Who we are
CMET (“CMET,” “we,” “us”) provides case-management software for personal-injury law firms. The service is operated from the State of Texas and is marketed to law firms in Texas. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and the CMET service, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect on this website
The public website collects information in exactly one place: the contact form. If you submit it, we collect the name, phone number, and email address you provide, along with any optional message you include. We use this information for one purpose — to respond to your inquiry about CMET and, if you become a customer, to set up your account.
When you submit the form we also record basic technical details — your IP address and browser type — solely to prevent spam and abuse of the form (for example, rate-limiting automated submissions).
This website uses two analytics services, PostHog and Vercel Analytics, to measure basic aggregate usage — page views, approximate region, and device type — so we can see whether the site is working. We do not run advertising, we do not sell or share your information with advertisers, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not build marketing profiles of visitors.
Information we process for customer firms
When a law firm uses CMET, the firm’s case data — client names, contact details, case records, documents, and communications — is entered into the service by the firm and remains the firm’s information. CMET processes that data only as a service provider acting on the firm’s instructions under our agreement with the firm, and only to provide, secure, and support the service. We do not use customer case data for advertising, and we do not disclose it except as directed by the customer firm, as needed to operate the service, or as required by law.
If you are a client of a law firm that uses CMET and you have questions about how your information is handled, please contact your law firm directly — they control that data.
We do not sell personal data
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. That applies to contact-form submissions and to everything processed inside the service.
Service providers
Like most software companies, we rely on a small number of vendors to run the service — cloud hosting, database infrastructure, email delivery, error monitoring, and similar operational providers. These vendors process information only on our behalf, only as needed to perform their function, and under contractual confidentiality obligations. We do not permit them to use it for anything else.
Retention
We keep contact-form submissions for as long as needed to follow up on the inquiry and maintain our business records, then delete or anonymize them. Customer firm data is retained according to our agreement with the firm and applicable professional-records obligations.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information in our care, including encryption in transit, access controls that restrict data to the firm it belongs to, and monitoring for unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, but protecting law-firm data is central to what we do.
Your choices and requests
You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to legal record-keeping requirements. To make a request, use the contact form on our homepage and describe your request — we respond to verified requests within a reasonable time.
Children
This website and the CMET service are for law-firm professionals. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through this website.
Governing law
This policy and any dispute arising out of it are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes affecting customer firms will also be communicated under our agreements with them.
